How do I back up and restore my Android data?
By default, Google backs up your data if your data is smaller than 25Mb. To confirm that Google is backing up your data, do the following:
- Launch the Android Settings app.
- Tap “Backup and reset”.
- Under “Google”, confirm that “Backup up my data” is ON, and “Automatic Restore” is ON.
To manually back up your data, do the following:
- Launch the Android Settings app.
- Tap “Applications”.
- Tap “Application Manager”.
- Tap our app.
- Tap “Force Stop” and confirm, to be sure the app has to launch from scratch.
- Launch our app, then as soon as you see the splash image, press a finger anywhere on the screen and keep it there.
- After about 20 seconds, you should see our support view being shown. Take your finger off of the screen.
- Tap “Save Database to Storage”, and note the storage location underneath, which might look similar to “/Android/data/.com.abvio.meter.XXX/files/Meter.db”, where XXX is one of “cycle”, “run”, “walk”, or “run5k”.
After that, you need transfer “Meter.db” from your Android device to a computer or other service. There are many ways to do so, including installing separate applications. Here are a few resources for doing so.

Backing up your Meter.db file backs up all your workouts.
To restore, do the following
- Follow the initial instructions to find the storage location on your Android device of our app’s Meter.db.
- Use one of the above methods to transfer your backed up Meter.db to the storage location.
- Follow the initial instructions again to bring up the support mode of the app.
- Tap “Restore Database from Storage” to copy the Meter.db from the storage location back into the app.
